Company History

Best Turf West was established in the fall of 1998 by Norman Davis, President and owner. It began by representing an innovative product, the PlanetAir aerator; a high quality, durable product that is changing the cultural practices of non-disruptive frequent aerating of putting surfaces and fairways.

Offering sales and aeration services, the company grew despite only offering one product. This success was attributed to the commitment to only carry products of the highest quality. In 2004 the company product portfolio expanded to offer top-dressers manufactured by Pequea Machine, of New Holland, Pennsylvania.

In February 2006, Best Turf West was chosen to be the dealer for Baroness USA, a line of turf equipment from Japan. Baroness was a perfect fit because it has one of the highest quality products available in the turf industry.

Since its humble beginnings, Best Turf West’s dealer network now reaches across the tri-state area of California, Arizona and Nevada, with sales staff in all three states.  Baroness, PlanetAir, Pequea top-dressers, Amazone Ground Care Equipment and Softride trailers are the primary equipment lines represented by Best Turf West.  Best Turf West will not add a product line unless that products quality and reputation meets the high standards set by Best Turf West.

In 2010, Best Turf West saw a significant increase in sales with the introduction of two additions to our product portfolio: Baroness’ new fairway mower and PlanetAir’s new Tri-Fecta aerator. Introducing new products into the market is one of Best Turf West’s fortes. The addition of these two product offerings allowed for better market penetration. 

In 2011 Best Turf West became an authorized Yamaha Golf Car dealer, with concentration in the Southern California region. Most recently Best Turf West became a factory direct dealer for Stens Products.
